Emergency Management

Emergency Manager (Part-Time or Full-Time Optional)

Lincoln County is accepting applications for a Part-Time/Full-Time Optional Emergency Manager.  This employee is responsible for providing direction and implementation of all aspects of emergency preparedness, including coordination of all public entities responding in times of disaster or emergency, training of personnel and conducting programs for the protection of lives and property from natural and man-made disasters and national security related events. The director oversees the smooth operation of the department and generates ideas to improve the overall methods of emergency response. This employee analyzes facts and makes sound judgments when performing day to day activities and in stressful emergency/disaster situations. This employee must possess excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication, and public relation skills. This employee must be able to work independently with only occasional supervision.  This position must have or obtain a Kansas Emergency Manager Certificate within 2 years of employment. 


Transportation Bus 

Transportation Bus Coordinator

Lincoln County is accepting applications for a Full-Time Transportation Bus Coordinator.  This position is responsible for ensuring the transportation bus service is operated according to KDOT regulations.  Essential Functions include:  Preparing and submitting annual budget for State and local funding; Responsible for scheduling and coordination of transportation for clients; Scheduling part-time drivers when needed; Weekly deposits to the Clerk's Office; Completing daily/monthly forms for the department and submitting to KDOT; Submitting monthly reimbursement reports to regional coordinator; Oversees maintenance and upkeep of the transportation fleet. As the primary driver for the bus service, duties will include: fueling and cleaning vehicles, daily check on vehicles prior to transporting clients; Pre and Post trip inspections; Safety and security of passengers; Collect and record fares; Attend KDOT required training's. Applicant must pass a KDOT Driver Physical.


Part-time Per-need Transportation Bus Driver

Lincoln County is accepting applications for a part-time per-need Transportation Bus Driver. This is a per need position. A valid Kansas Driver’s License and basic computer knowledge is required. Applicant chosen must pass a KDOT Driver Physical. The Lincoln County Transportation Bus is a full-service bus with daily trips in the Lincoln County area and weekly trips to Salina and other areas. Bus hours are Mon-Fri 8-5.


Highway Department

Full-Time Truck Driver

Lincoln County Highway Department is accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driver. This individual will be responsible for hauling material, machinery and equipment.  A thorough knowledge of rules and regulations and laws for safe operation and driving of commercial vehicles is required. This employee must possess strong mechanical skills. The ability to operate loaders, graders, trucks, and other heavy equipment is preferred. The ability to understand and interpret written instructions, maps, schematics, manuals,reports, regulations, and other written material is required. A thorough knowledge of the physical layout of Lincoln County is required. This employee should have good organizational, public relations, and oral and written communication skills. This employee needs to be able to adapt to changing technology. High school diploma or GED is required and applicants must have a valid class “A” CDL license with manual transmission or be willing to acquire one. Lincoln County offers competitive wages and an excellent benefit package.  


Full-Time Equipment Operator

Lincoln County Highway Department is accepting applications for a full-time Equipment Operator. This applicant must possess knowledge of mechanics, welding and measuring and working knowledge of mathematics is necessary. The ability to operate loaders, dozers, mowers, motor graders, trucks, and other heavy equipment is required with a high degree of accuracy. The ability to understand and interpret written instructions, maps, schematics, manuals, reports, regulations, and other written material is required. A thorough knowledge of the physical layout of Lincoln County is required. This employee should have good organizational, public relations, and oral and written communication skills. This employee needs to be able to adapt to changing technology. High school diploma or GED is required and applicants must have a valid class “A” CDL license with manual transmission or be willing to acquire one. Lincoln County offers competitive wages and an excellent benefit package.


Noxious Weed

Noxious Weed Sprayer

Under the supervision of the Noxious Weed Director, the Noxious Weed Sprayer is a seasonal, part-time position. This employee assists with the weed control program for the County. Duties include spraying noxious weeds in compliance with all state and federal regulations relating to noxious weed control. Similar or related experience is preferred, but not required. Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within one month of employment.


Ambulance

Year Round Open Position, Part-time Per-need

EMT, AEMT, Paramedic or RN 

This position will work as needed. Applicants must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and current Kansas EMT or higher certification. Applicants should be highly motivated and work well under pressure.
