Barnard Rural Fire District

The Barnard Fire District includes portions of the following townships: Salt Creek (Mitchell County), Round Spring, Eureka, Scott, Battle Creek, Logan, Beaver and Salt Creek (Lincoln County). The department is located at corner of Ballard and Main in Barnard. Randy Rathbun is the Barnard Rural Fire Chief.
Barnard volunteer firefighters are: Randy Rathbun, Bob Abell, Brett Abell, David Abell, Jeremy Abell, Justin Abell, Ryan Abell, Lonnie Brockway, Joe Coover, Darrell Eilert, Betty Harlow, Jim Harlow, Leon Hart, A.J. Hickman, Bryan Hickman, Garret Hickman, Bob Howe, Eric Jones, Gary Jones, Jeremy Jones, Larry Jones, John Keeler, Eddie Loy, Morris Loy, Calvin Marsh, Randy Pickering, Scott Rathbun, Al Joe Wallace, Nick Wallace, John Wolting, and Tim Wolting.
The Barnard department has three brush trucks, one city pumper, one new tank wagon, and an old tank truck.
The new tank wagon, 3000 gallon supply tanks, a fire fan, piercing nozzle, and remote were obtained for the department in 2004.
