Voter Registration

Visit the voter registration website to download a form that you can fill out, print, sign, and mail or drop by the election office at  your convenience. You can also register online. You should register if you:

  • Just moved into Lincoln County
  • Just turned 18 years old or will be 18 before the next election
  • Just became a United States citizen
  • Have never voted before in Lincoln County

If you are already registered, you should re-register if you:

  • Moved within Lincoln County
  • Changed your name
  • Want to change your party affiliation

Candidate Filing Information

Candidates for public office in Kansas may be nominated either by political party nomination or independent nomination.  Democratic and Republican candidates must run in the primary and may file either by fee or by petition.  Candidates of other recognized parties(currently, Libertarian) do not run in the primary, but are nominated for the general election by the party's caucus or convention.  Independent candidates do not run in the primary and may file for the general election only by petition.  All candidates must pay administrative fees to the Governmental Ethics Commission and to the Secretary of State, and all non-federal candidates must appoint treasurers and file periodic campaign finance reports

Candidate Filing Deadline:  Friday, September 1, 2017 (Noon)

Last Day to Register to Vote for City/School General Election: October 17, 2017

Last day to change Party Affiliation: 

First day of Advance Voting in Office: October 18, 2017



Unable to go to the polls on Election Day?

All Registered Voters are eligible to Advance Vote. Voters must complete an Application for an Advance Ballot and return it to the County Clerk's Office by either mail, fax, email, or in person. Qualifications to obtain a Federal Service advance ballot for Military and Overseas Citizens can be found here.
